Mountain hiking, path and cross-country skiing

Hi,

With such a name list "talk-alps" I'll be sure to find mountain lovers around
here, and whould like to know "how do you tag, on the other side of the
boundary"

For hiking trails, as far as I see, most common usage seams to be highway=path
+ sac_scale

Now my question is how do you (or do you ?) tag cross-country skiing path ?

wiki whould suggest that path fits well as well, but how do you make
distinctions between a skiing path only (only used and visible in winter) and
an hiking/mtb path (not used in winter)

additionnal tags ? other keys ?

 ski:nordic=designated
