These are the concepts we looked at last fall.
Hey, Robb, nice to see you still on the list! Thanks for engaging so quickly.
I can see where Cameron's going with it. I like the wiping squeegee concept the most, too. I think where Cameron is going is making the squeegee concept even clearer. As it wipes the screen, it could be a wiper, cleaner, etc., and the word "squeegee" may not come to mind as quickly as it may if the squeegee were propped along the side. Your point is well taken, too, about the design concepts that we need to honor. Is there a way to increase identification with "squeegee" while honoring those concepts?

Hi Cameron,
Do you have a particular reason in mind that the wiper next to the monitor would improve the concept? I'm pushing back because a key in icon / logo development is using space efficiently. A wiper on a screen suggests cleaning the content of the screen, and doesn't require extra space, while a wiper standing next to the screen suggests . . . ? and requires extra space. Do you see what I'm saying? I'm completely open to other ideas, but just want to know the rationale behind them if I can't see it right off.
Thanks,
Robb

Robb,
Could i bother you to write up some additional concepts with just the Monitor Display and the Squeegee, and maybe some sort of swiping. Example: Monitor with Squeegee leaning against it. Monitor with Squeegee wiping it like a window. etc..
Thanks,
Cameron

No reason.. just the seperation really.. maybe it would look better if the handle were straight instead of looking like a windshield wiper. Thoughts??

Hello,
I like #5 the best too. I also like it better with the wiper on the screen
and not standing next to it. But then I don't have strong associations to
squeegee or wiper, because English is not my first language.
Just another thought: What about a geeko on top of the display wiping the
screen with it's tail?

Ursula,
Awesome Idea! .. Lets add the geeko wiping the screen with a Squeegee. :)>>> On 1/26/2009 at 03:53 PM, in message

I'm just thinking we are not dealing with cars.. so making it look more like a squeegee instead of a wiper would be better. :) Hope im not being too critical.>>> On 1/27/2009 at 01:13 PM, in message
