Howdy

I run 10.10
It asked for a update on some security issues and while downloading the
data it hung - completely
Against my better judgement the only thing left was to crash shut down the
pc and reboot.
Now It will not reboot -
turns out the hard drive is well pretty much invisible.
It does not show up on the bios / or can be seen if a live cd is used or
with a usb pendrive used (gparted)
When booting up - I get as far as a flashing curser on the top left side
and that just blinks away for decades

Thoughts???

Cheers

Reinhold

Hello,
When you turn on your computer can you hear your Harddrive spin up at all ?
You can try setting your bios to defaults
Also if you can try unplugging your Harddrive and then plugging it in again. On 5/7/12, Papabear aka Reinhold wrote:

I had this problem a while ago. Though my hard drive (which was only a
few months old)had died. I removed the data ribbon on the drive and
reinserted. Seems it was just a bad contact. Perhaps this may work for
you.

might be a dead drive or controller or something...
