Archive.org Tile Serving

Hi,

Last night Archive.org has set up a collection to facilitate tile serving
from Archive.org. We can experiment on what the best structure of this
would be. Anyone with interest in this subject please contact me.

On other matters...
tile.osm.org uses GeoDNS and we are interested in getting additional
servers. (USA, additional server in Western Europe, Eastern Europe and
Eurasia would be good)
Current setup here: http://dns.openstreetmap.org/tile.openstreetm...

How do the tiles get updated between the (looks like) 2 servers split by
GeoDNS today? Are the individual/independent rendering servers using
mod_tile (or similar) or is there a central renderer that delivers tiles
to both servers for serving to the end users?

If the latter, then maybe the same approach could be used to populate
and refresh Archive.org?
